Unlike most whiskies, the Aberlour brand name is synonymous with the Speyside village in which the original distillery is still located. The distillery was founded in 1879 by James Fleming at a location with heritage stretching back over 1,500 years to an ancient Celtic settlement established by St Drostan. This makes Aberlour one of the most intriguing distilleries to visit, and helps to produce multi-faceted and distinctive single malt whiskies.
